Rcd. a letter from Tom Atwater with his suggestions for changes
in the presentation of the TEMPO rules. He also sent the
rules for NAPOLEON AND JOSEPHINE which is simply REVERSI
with a minor variation which permits the first four [crossout] pieces
to be placed anywhere on the board except at an edge.
BB painted the pegs gold & silver for the 3 peg games.
Looking thru the STRATEGOS reproductions. There were a
number of pages with imperfect reproduction and two pages
missing. Called Jim Dunnagen [Dunnigan] and he said he's send me
new repros for those pages.
The catalog for the Caddylak Co. came. In addition to the 1'6"
black tape they have strips of magnets in a large number
of different colors that can be cut into pieces. Filed the
catalog in miscellaneous box on shelf [22].
The letter I sent to A.S.M. Dickins (see 3/18) what returned
for insufficient postage. Added 5¢ to envelope & remailed
it 3/22.

LEIPZIG:- The gigantic battle in which Napoleon was first de-
feated decisively by the Allies. WATERLOO with corps in-
stead of divisions.
1940:- The Germans "blitzkrieg" their way through France
in 1940.
THE BATTLE OF BERLIN:- Allied and Russian armies rush for
Berlin in 1945.
GALLIPOLI:- The Allies try a sneak amphibious invasion of
Turkey in 1915 in order to open a route to isolated Russia.
IWO JIMA:- The classic amphibious assault of a Japanese island
stronghold in World War II by U.S. Marines.
LEYTE GULF:- The greatest naval battle ever fought. 1945,
during the invasion of the Philippines.
1776:- The American colonies revolt and a British army is sent
to restore the royal government.
SALERNO:- The Allies decide to invade Italy in 1943, but where?
When they do land they must push the Germans out of Italy.
BATTLE FOR THE ATLANTIC:- The German U-boats strive to halt
Allied shipping in the Atlantic. Allied anti-sub forces strive to
destroy all German subs.
LUFTWAFFE:- The air war over Europe, 1940-45. First the Germans
try to subdue Britain in 1940 and then the Allies smash
Germany with heavy bombers.
THE THIRD REICH:- The battle for Europe, 1939-45. All elements
involved, land, air, naval, economic, political, as Germany
takes on the Western Allies.
