Tuesday 5 March 1968
65th day - 301 days to come
Alice called. She is going to see Bob Engel and a girl
working under him, of Whitman at 3:30 on 3/11. I
will join them at 4, after she shows them some other
games. I will bring MINI-FOCUS to show them.
Alice called the retailer who is a vice-president of
Champion games. SPECTRUM arrived. In a few weeks
they will be returning the game they find they are
sure they don't want.
She wrote to Arnold Shapiro of X. She said she could
see their point in shelving NOMINATION but is disappointed
about CINEMA which she thinks is a great game. Arnold
will be in town for Toy Fair and we'll try to arrange
my meeting him.
Bill Dodge visited her and told her that Charlie Leicht
& Bernie Alpher had left Lowe and started their own business.
This may be a good market since they know Charlie
Leicht very well.
Bill said that he hadn't gotten his check for NILE
yet but that he had heard that the sales were not nearly
as good as originally predicted.
Felica saw QUINTO as a listed in a premium store.
This means that it may be closing out since premium
store rarely play [crossed out] pay full price.
More work on VENTURE CAPITAL cards.
Henry Slesar (see 2/29) sent me a roll of narrow black
tape and said that he hadn't been able to locate
the catalog he had on it. He remember, however, that the
manufacturer or distributor was "Caddylak Systems"
and that they had advertised extensively in signature, the
'Diner's Club Magazine'.
Finished the new set of VENTURE CAPITAL cards except for
cutting the corners.

(cont. from 3/12) [3/12]
Claude called. He asked what Alice was doing with LOA. I suggested he
call next week. Claude says he has some Times clippings for me,
nothing too exciting.
The tape from Caddylak came. It was not much larger than the one
Henry sent me.
