FRIDAY 5 JANUARY 1968
5th day - 361 days to come
Rcd. a To Claude's. Brought him 12 small cubes and 6 large ones.
Played KNOTS TO YOU with all of Claude's kids, Claude, Anne, and
BB. They liked it enough to play a second time. Frank
won by having his partner [illegible cross out] let go and then pulled. Even
with the handle it came loose. Worse than this, Raymond
was hit in the eye by a whipping handle. He wasn't hurt, but
he could have been.
Possibly it might work out to have the teams work for
one minute at a time in turn with a timer to regulate the time.
Played BAZAAR with Anne, BB, Barbara, Claude, Frank, and myself.
They weren't too crazy about it.
Claude gave me a book CHECK PINOCHLE by Morton Wild
and B. Jay Becker.
Discussed the idea of using two-handed LOA in my book in the
chapter "Game Inventors are People Too." He is agreeable
as long as there is no difficulty with his using it in his own
book. He didn't care much for the chapter title, thinking
it too "cry-baby." Anne, however, agreed with me that it
was a very valid point as long as I used a light touch.
Took back the two books Claude had borrowed from me : -
MACHINES, MUSIC AND PUZZLES
MATHEMATICS AND THE IMAGINATION
