TUESDAY 2 JANUARY 1968
2nd day - 364 days to come
Letter from Bill Caruson. He is sending me a word game FOIL
to evaluate at $10 an hour.
Rcd. a call from 3M. -
Harry Cunningham
Sales Supervisor
3M Center (Tel. 612 - 733 - 5491)
Bldg. 220-SW
St. Paul, Minn.
He works under Will Erickson on their educational game line. He is in charge
of acquisitions, buying games and small companies. He would like me
to get some catalogs at 200 Fifth Ave. and other places and in general
see if I can find anything interesting. I suggested their sending
me a set of the four games they now are test marketing, to get
an idea of what to look for. He thought it a good idea and will
check with Bob Claude who is in charge of internal development.
In general they are interested in high ticket items made, from
$5 up. The age groups they are aiming at is 4 to 8 and 8 to 12.
I mentioned CUISINAIRE and will get more info for him.
Among the companies he wanted catalogs for were : -
"Block House" - (which I found out was a manufacturer's representative)
"Wolverine" -
"Educards" -
"Game of TRUMPS" - He'll look into this one.
"Spare Time" - I told him that it was taken over by "Lakeside" and
he wasn't interested in dealing with them.
"Embree" -
"Creative Playthings" - I already have a catalog.
I mentioned the Playthings Directories and he'd like a sopy copy. They
don't have a listing for "Educational Games."
He said they'd pay me $10 an hour (my regular rate - he said).
Also I can call him collect any time I feel it necessary.
(cont. on 1/3)
I mentioned the card games but he doesn't know anything
about them.
Called Felicia in the evening to say that we had a good time last
Friday.
Started a list of games to use in my book : -
FOCUS (board)
HOLD THAT LINE - (P & P)
PAPER BOXING - (P & P)
