365th day
At Bloomingdale's bought: - TAXI (Ariel) ZOO QUEST (Ariel)
(cont. from 12/30)
(1) 3 or 4 minors, or 3 or 4 majors of the same house.
(2) 3 or 4 cards of the same rank.
(3) Pairs - corresponding major and minor in the same house.
In order to score the major must be placed first with the minor on top. It is permissable to place the minor first, but this does not score.
In a type (1) or (2) group the most cards is 4. In a type (3) only 2 can be placed.
A player who has drawn from the deck may instead of placing a card on the table, place a card face down in front of his partner. On the partner's turn he must pick up this card - after which his turn continues as if he had drawn from the deck.
A situation can develope where a player can not place a card on the table because he can not fit any of the 4 groups he has. In this case he must pass a card to his partner. (4 groups is the most a player may have.)
In taking cards from a right-hand opponent a player can only take a card from the top of a group.
A player may, instead of making any other play, move a card from the top of one of his groups to any other fitting place or to an empty space - having one.
After the deck is exhausted play continues by either placing a card from the hand, stealing from an opponent, - making a move of a card from one group to another or empty space, or removing a scoring group to be placed aside for scoring. If a player does not have a card in his hand and cannot, or does not wish to, make another play, he may pass.
The game ends when either - one team has no further cards left on the table (having been removed for scoring) - or there are 8 or less total cards on the table (or in hand) and a player in his turn gets his partner's permission to end play - all 4 players pass in turn.
Scoring:
3 majors - 30 points
4 majors - 60 points
3 minors - 20 points
4 minors - 40 points
[Curly bracket on right, indicating that these are for Type (1) or (2)]
Corresponding Pair - 20 points
[Curly bracket on right, indicating that this item is for Type (3)]
(cont. on 12/26)
