Each player has 2 full suits and a joker of tjhe special
small sized cards provided with the set. Set the cards in the
slots with backs to opponent. Any arrangement is permissable
except that joker must be placed in one of the back two rows &,
although it may be moved, it may never move out of the two
back rows.
A play consisits of moving one space orthogonally to an empty
space or to a space occupied by an opponent's pc. If the latter,
it is a challenge. High card (Ace is high) wins. The winning card
remains on the board. The losing card is captured by the winner.
In case of a tie, both cards are taken off by the player who
did not challenge. Deuces are wild and tie any card that
challenges them. (It never pays to usually doesn't pay to
challenge with a deuce.)
Each player once during the game may "fly with an
ace". He moves an ace to any enemy occupied space and
challenges.
Any card can take a joker.
Various way of playing : - Simplest - Taking opponent's joker
wins the game. (In this version capturing cards has no meaning.)
Play to score of 5000. Captured cards can be melded in
poker hands according to the above schedule. Melds with less than
5 cards do not require additional cards. Once a joker is captured
no further melds can be made. If 5000 is reached, a new round is
started.
There is a version involving betting which I didn't record.
