TUESDAY 9 NOVEMBER
1965 313th day - 52 days to come
Due to power failure did not get to work on NOMINATION until
2:00 P.M. Didn't finish everything I wanted to do. During day
sent out NOMINATION score sheet for 10 prints - I paid for them.
At night Dana made labels for the boxes for NOMINATION &
CINEMA.
(cont. from 11/10)
down the location. Have 4 chances including the actual
city guess. Scoring system based on number of
questions. (Rough idea.) Didn't play this.
Jim Goldsbury & Roland Coleman of Hallmark there at one.
Played CINEMA (7 hand - including Bill Dodge). Worked very
well. I came in 2nd by $100,000.
Discussed Bill Dodges game. Simply CATEGORIES with
a rather clever list of categories to be put on cards.
Each player dealt 5 cards. For 1st round each chooses
a category card and then each chooses a letter (thus with
6 players there is a 6x6 grid, etc..). 2nd round another
card & letter, etc. After 3rd round, if majority
agree the remaining two cards are thrown in and five
new ones dealt.
Played GO AND SEE but didn't finish game.
Played NOMINATION (8 hand - including Anna Lu Van Buren
who has an idea for boxing CHARADES which we didn't
get a chance to discuss). I won but everyone liked it.
Broke up precipitously as there was a warning of
another power failure.
Called Alice later & discussed it further. They
are going to visit I/S Friday and discuss the
entire matter.
Bill Bentzin called a few times. Wants more pictures
taken tomorrow. The ACQUIRE box was worn on the
bottom in the previous picture. We were sent a set
of the 7 bookshelf games for the pictures tomorrow.
Also discussed the questions for my TV interviews.
Rcd. a catalog from Hamley's in London. The following
games look interesting :-
L'ATTAQUE - Board looks just about the same as STRATEGO.
SUBBUTEO - TABBLE SOCCER - An action game.
BUCCANEER - I think this is the same as TRADE WINDS.
MEMORY GAME - Take-off of the card game CONCENTRATION.
HOROSCOPE - Will get this.
SPY RING - Will got this.
Took home a pile of Toys & Novelties from I/S.
