WEDNESDAY 3 NOVEMBER
1965 307th day - 58 days to come
Spoke to Alice. Told her of seeing 3M games at F.A.O. Schwartz
yesterday. Also told her of the name u>PEACHIE being used on
a "pop" art can, among other items of a similar nature.
Bill Bentzin called to get information on my published games.
Gave him that info. Also he read back a list of my games
I had given him before. I added one game. The list follows:-
AIRLINE, MOVEMENT, ACQUIRE, FOCUS, HIGH BID SPIRITS, RED LETTER,
DATA, SIT DOWN AND THINK, CARRÉ, POTENTIAL, SPECTRUM, TAM-BIT, NEWTOWN, INTEROCKING DIRECTORATE, SPACEWAYS, NOMINATION.
Called up Popular Science Magazine & spoke to Herbert
Shuldiner who did the article on games. Asked him about
PSYTEGE. He told me that it is a game, put out by a
California outfit, based on making words out the letters in
a larger word. The larger words are on cards. If he still
has it he will loan it to me. I'm to call him Friday morning.
Started cutting corners on NOMINATION cards.
Thinking of a game - TENNIS CARDS. Use a 52 card deck.
One player takes the red cards & one the black.
Choose for first serve. Server leads any card. Other
player must answer with one of the same parity (due
to being off balance due to serve). Volley continues
until a player makes 21 (Aces = 1 or 11, pictures = 10,
others = pip value) which means opponent can't reach ball,
or someone plays a card going over 21 which represents
a ball hit out of bounds or into net. When a
player uses all his cards he picks up the 26 up and
continues.
