Friday 10 September 1965
253rd day - 112 days to come
Stamped a lot of play money.
Rcd. a carbon of a letter Bob Abbott sent to Mattel telling
them that he didn't want to take a job with them and
telling them that Claude might take a job & is a genius at
making up games. Also said that I knew more about games
than anyone, and might have something they could use.
(contin. from 9/12)
[4 DIAGRAMS OF 4 x 4 CHECKER BOARDS. 2 ARE POPULATED WITH 4 WHITE CHECKERS EACH. 2 ARE POPULATED WITH 4 BLACK CHECKERS EACH. ALL OF THE PIECES ON ALL OF THE BOARDS ARE POSITIONED ON BLACK SPACES IN TYPICAL CHECKERS STYLE. 2 SPACES ON THE TOP BOARD ARE MARKED WITH A 'K' (FOR KING). 2 SPACES ON THE BOTTOM BOARD ARE MARKED WITH A 'K' (FOR KING).]
Each player has 8 checkers started as
shown [IN DIAGRAMS]. Pcs. move forward on the same
level or down (up for opponent) in the
same line or to a forward line. Thus the
maximum number of spaces a player pc.
could move to is 5 (2 on same level,
& 3 on the next). King's are made by
reaching one of 2 spaces marked with a
"K". Kings can move in any direction
- making a maximum of 12 spaces a
king can move to.
Jumping is as in checkers, in any
permissable direction.
Played FILM - THE LIVELY ART with
Phil, Annette, Ruth & Hy (Snell).
First started a 6 hand game but
stopped it. I acted as a "banker"
in a 5-hand game and it is de-
sireable to have a non-playing "banker".
Ruth won.
At Brentano's looked at 99 again.
Added some rules to card in file.
