Saturday 4 September 1965
247th day - 118 days to come
Claude bought me two books (after calling me yesterday
to see if I wanted them) both of which unfortunately
I had.
BOOK OF INDOOR GAMES by Pashko
NEW DEAL SOLITAIRE by Fitts
Also got me the June & July '65 Sci. Ams.
Claude had a new board drawn up for SUDDEN
DEATH (see 3/14/64). He is now calling it WATCH.
Played quite a few games. Unfortunately a draw
condition develops. Probably changing the board
can fix this.

During day finished cards for FILM - THE LIVELY ART and
accomplished very little else. In evening played a
9-handed game (BB, Dana, Dale, & Claude's family thru
Marty). It worked quite well. Ran 1 hour. Dale
won, Dana second, & Claude third even tho he
produced no pictures.
The only drawbacks were that about 10 pictures were
5 [stars] and the figureing to determine the point value
of a picture were a little laborious. I'll be able
to fix that however.
