FRIDAY 23 JULY
1965 204th day - 161 days to come
Called Al Vogel of Sales Management Mag. He said copies
were sent to Alice & me on Tuesday. Is sending
another one to me. Would like to hear my comments.
At Gimbel's saw:-
TAKE A TOUR TO PUERTO RICO (Maestre Co. - Puerto Rico)
Board with a map of Puerto Rico with paths to various
points of interest. 11 sets of cards with numbers on the
back from 2 to 12. 2 dice. Players in turn th Also a
set of "souvenir" cards.
Players in turn throw the dice and take a card from the
pack of the number thrown. If exhausted, lose turn.
Most of the cards have some point value and are kept.
Others allow you to take a card from a neighbor. Others
allow you to try for a "souvenir" card. One is taken from
the deck and it has a range of dice numbers which allow
you to keep it. Throw to see if you can keep it. The set
of cards with 11 are "trip" cards. After getting one, on
subsequent turns move on board with throw of dice ntil
reach the designated place - then keep card.
Play to a designated number of points, or, for a longer
game, till all cards have been drawn. (Rough idea.)
BOTTLECAP BASEBALL :- Plastic layout marked off
in a baseball field. Discs which are flipped for
both offence & defense. (Didn't look at detailed rules.)
MYSTERY DATE (M.B.):- Board with path where players
(for girls actually) pick up cards representing parts of
an outfit. Maximum cards in a hand is 6, so the
most completed outfits the player can have at one time
is 2. There are four different outfits in the game.
After a player has one, or two, completed outfits in
their hand they open the special door in the center
of the board. There are 5 different "dates", one
matching each of the outfits and one "pest". If the
"date" at the door matches held completed outfit, win.
If not (probably) have to give up a completed outfit
and then continue around next turn. If "pest" is
at door, there is some lost time getting rid of him.
(Fairly rough idea.)
(cont. from 7/21)
She gave him my phone number & he is supposed to
contact me.
