Palm Sunday 101st day - 264 days to come
(cont. from 4/10/65)
direction. If land on a space marked [drawing of a circle with an X inside] (revolving door) may, if desired, reverse direction of arrow. Player may land with 1 card and then move in opposite direction with another. If a piece is resting in a [drawing of a circle with an X inside] space no player may passover it.
Contact cards, when used, are passed to the player on the mover's left, who may how use them. [transcribed as is]
When land directly behind a player, with arrow pointed towards him but regardless of direction of his arrow, you may look at a pers [crossed out] that player's identity (spying). Once a player "spys" he may not make any further moves on that turn.
The object is to kill the player next in the circle to you and to avoid being killed. (S kills K, K kills N, etc.). If one letter is not being used the next beyond is the target. When land directly on a player you try to kill him. If he is your proper victim he is killed and out of the game and you get all his "contact" cards. If you are in error, you are out and he gets your contact cards.
If a player cannot move he shows his cards to prove this. Claude originally intended that a player with no other possible move than a killing move would have to do it even if he knew it were the wrong victim. We thought that he should be allowed not to move & we played that way.
If a player is on a "safety" space he cannot be killed but he can be spied upon.
Bob gave me an ad from today's Times. Full page for Brentano's. Included ACQUIRE. (Filed in 1965 Ad Clips).
Helen loaned me GAMES AND DECISIONS by R. Duncan Luce & Howard Raiffa. The only game it has is GOPS or GOOFSPIEL
