MONDAY 8 FEBRUARY
1965 39th day - 326 days to come
Alice called. Nice letter from Mr. Barta of Whitman. They
researched the name FOCUS & it is clear. They'll use it.
At Gimbel's saw SCRABBLE CROSSWORD CUBES. Played with
14 cubes with letters & numbers. Timer (sand) used for limiting
turn. Cubes are thrown & arranged in crossword form. Score
for each letter in each word & deduct for unused letters. The
one original gimmick is that only 1 word of each length - from
2 to 8 - can be made, even in succeeding turns. Record is kept,
on a special pad, of the length of words used. Players can
refuse to take their turn when they feel that will lose more
than they can gain.
Saw the 3 A-H games I want at both Gimbels & Macy's,
but didn't buy them.
Bought BEWITCH (S & R) & filed it at (490).
In Woolworth's looked for box for packaging SIT DOWN AND THINK.
Couldn't find the right size.
Called Dick Giller (1/27 list) and asked him how to tell if a
copy of AFRIKA KORPS has the latest rules. He said that the
latest had a small table of supplies for the Germans, based
on the throw of a die, on page 4 of rules. He said he had
read rules of FOCUS and it looked interesting.
