FRIDAY 5 FEBRUARY
1965 36th day - 329 days to come
Returned uncashed money orders for L2-3-6 to Hamleys
since they couldn't be cashed in this country. Asked
for credit.
Rcd. BEN SOAKER CARD GAME from Alice Felicia. Filed in Misc. Card Games
folder.
Felicia called to see if we have Business Week magazine at
our office. There is an article in Feb. 6th issue about
games for business made up by Allan Charles (who is he?).
Bob & Helen over to finish up his switching toy with Dana. He
showed me his new GAME IDEA. Play on a checkerboard using
9 pcs. ea. of 4 colors. The pcs. are started in 3 x 3 squares
at the 4 corners of the board. Move like a chess king. Use a
deck of cards to determine the move, each player having
1 suit. Layout the cards so that, say, 5 can be seen at any
time. The top card player moves, then the next, etc. When
an opponent's pc. space is reached form a pile by putting
your pc. on top. A two high pile can only be covered
by a pile 2 or higher, & so on. Didn't decide whether
piles should be given a greater move. Also didn't
determine an objective. The piling protection gives an
incentive to invade an opponent's territory. Another rule
is that no two pcs. in a pile next to each other may
be the same color. This prevents a pile mopping up
1 opponent.
Told Bob of my new ideas (2/4) for AIRLINE. He liked them.
