Thursday 28 January 1965
28th day - 337 days to come
Remembered a GAME idea of Bob Abbott's. In a 3 hand
battle game introduce the rule that a captured pc.
can be used by the player capturing it. This, of course,
gives an incentive for being aggressive.
(continued from 1/29)
Alice told me of changes she made in CONTINUUM, (1/25)
These consist of new red & black spaces as shown : - The viewer
can be moved back from
the edge so that any of
the 9 spaces marked
(A) can be used by player
A to place a body (but
not the two blacked out
spaces.)
There are some changes
in the scoring but I
don't remember them.
We will probably get
together [to] try it again.
[LARGE DIAGRAM OF AN 11 x 11 GRID BOARD. 20 OF THE SPACES ARE MARKED WITH BLACK DOTS. THESE ARE ARRANGED ON NON-CONSECUTINE ROWS AND COLUMNS AND FORM A VAGUE HASH-TAG SHAPE (#). 9 SPACES ARE MARKED WITH RED DOTS. THESE ARE ON NON-CONSECUTIVE ROWS AND COLOMNS AND FORM A VAGUE CROSS SHAPE NEAR THE CENTER OF THE BOARD. 7 OF THE RED DOTS ARE ALSO MARKED WITH AN (A). 4 SPACES CONTAIN RED X's (TWO OF WHICH ARE ALSO MAEKED WITH AN (A)). 4 SPACES CONTAIN BLACK SPACES. THE BOTTOM OF THE BOARD IS LABELLED '(PLAYER A)']
