Wednesday 28 October 1964
Sts. Simon and Jude, Apostles 302nd day - 64 days to come
At Klein's bought TANGLE (S&R).
(cont. from 10/29)
of a minor or a major rank can count. Which one
counts is determined by the play.
The first card played sets either minor or major
in accordance with whether the card played is a
minor or a major. This can be changed if anytime
during the play a minor is followed by a matching
major, regardless of house. In order to count, however,
the two cards thus played must be of the same or
higher rank than the first card played.
For example: - the first card played is MO setting
minors. Sometime during the play a player plays
5 [trapezoid drawn] and the next player plays P [circles in a circle drawn]. The play is now
switched to majors. However if the first card is VO
and later 5 [trapezoid drawn] followed by P [circles in a circle drawn] are played there is no
switch.
There can be more than one switch during the
play, the last switch setting the level.
The winning hands in order are: -
Full house.
Straight flush (4 card)
Four of a kind
Straight (4 card)
2 pairs
3 of a kind
Pair
High card
(How about 3 card flush, straight, etc.??)
At 2 stores saw ALLEGIANCE (Rally Round Co.).
This is CANASTA played with a special deck which
has provisions of the constitution on each card.
After playing a regular hand a player can increase
his score if he can arrange the provisions in his
"canasta" in proper order. (Rough idea.)
