SATURDAY 27 JUNE
1964 179th day - 187 days to come
Filed AFRIKA KORPS, CONESTOGA, & 99 in 1964 Ad Clips.
At Gimbel's - Paramus saw PROBE again. See 5/28 for
additional information.
(cont. from 6/26)
Wald had a GAME IDEA. Use a standard deck. 4 play
with partners sitting alternately. 12 cards are
dealt to each and 4 cards are place in the
center as follows:-
[diagram of 4 cards, placed north/south/east/west]
There is a round of bidding in which players bid
for a number of points they will make with a
suit as a scoring suit.
Play consists of playing a card in each position
starting with the one in front of the player, & going
in a clockwise direction. If the last card played is
higher than the card on top he takes the entire pile.
Piles left at the end belong to no one. (There was
discussion about this.)
Each ACE counts 4, King-3, Queen-2, jack-1.
In addition each of the 13 cards of the chosen suit
counts 1 point.
There is probably a game here but it needs a lot
of development.
Someone mentioned a game that friends had been
playing around with. It is called LINGER. The
idea is to be the last to die off. There are
cards with different types of diseases. Some are
contagious & can be given to other players.
Wald, Bob, Claude, Helen & I played one round of
BIG FUNERAL.
Wald, Claude, Dana & I played a game of SPECTRUM.
