MONDAY 16 MARCH
1964 76th day - 290 days to come
Sent for game CARU advertised in March Popular Science.
(cont. from 3/15)
Mc-Graw Hill Book Co., Inc. (Educational Games & Aids Div.)
4 CYTE- Elaborate version of Word Squres.
Spoke to Mr. Knudsen, development man, about showing
some games. I'm to call 971-2376.
Lowell Toy Mfg. Corp.
CUE- There are messages written in code (do all players
get the same message?), a special gadget for with windows
for each letter, master code cards to be placed in the
gadget, 5 letter dice.
Each player gets a message. The corresponding code
card is placed in the gadget. Each player in turn shakes
the 5 letter dice and makes just one word. He can look
behind the window of any letter in the word, but only
one. (For example he makes the word SOD and has a number
of D's in his message. He looks behind the window, keep-
ing it covered from the others, and sees that D is a supsitu-
ted for E. He can then write E wherever a D occurs.)
First to decipher his message wins. (See Ad Clippings - 1964).
NFL FOOTBALL- (Nation Football League) - A simple foot-
ball game played with two many sided dice. No choice
at all* as the game stands. 1 die gives the type of
play and the other, in the proper location, gives the
yardage result. *A player can choose to kick, and only
throw the results die.
Jules Cooper talked about a WAR GAME IDEA which
he developed but won't publish. Two islands are the beliger-
ants. The forces are built up until one declares war.
(All he told me.) Also said again that PATHFINDER and
INTRIGUE were better games before M.B. loused them up.
I'm supposed to call him about getting together and show-
ing him my collection.
Sutton Games Corp. (Curtis Kaufman)
PORT-OF-CALL- was given a new set of instructions which have
some minor changes.
MOONHUNT- A prospecting game using a magnetic device
for locating a vein. (See Ad Clippings - 1964).
E.S.R., Inc.
MARCHEK- A "Chinese Checkers" type game played on a quadrille,
(2 to 4 players). Jumped pcs. are captured. (Rough idea.)
Contractwise
CONTRACTWISE- A solitaire "bridge" game. (See Ad Clippings - 1964).
(cont. on 3/17)
