THURSDAY 2 JANUARY
1964 2nd day - 364 days to come
Working on my idea for CARD MANCALA.
Use the A, K, Q, J of Spades, Hearts, and Clubs. Use 4
more face down cards to mark the spaces for 4 piles
Deal out four columns of 3 cards. Choose for first.
A move consists of taking it a column and dealing it out
one at a time to the right and then, if necessary, to
the left end, etc. Do not change order of cards as dealt.
Score Score for cards of the same rank or of the
same suit in order at the top of a pile. Each card in
such a combination counts 1 point and keep counting
till reach an unmatched card.
[Diagram drawing of cards stacking for points; left stack has "5 points," right stack note says "7 x 2 = 14 points"]
If there are 4 or more cards in a pile and they are
all in scoring combinations they count double.
Special bonus piles:- All 3 of a rank in a pile alone
scores 12 points. All 4 of a suit in a pile scores alone
scores 16 point, and if in numerical order - 32 points.
Play to some definite amount.
