DECEMBER 1974 - WEDNESDAY 25
CHRISMAS DAY - 359TH DAY - 6 DAYS TO COME
Wrote the rules for THE MEMORY BOOK GAME and packaged
it in the spare EXORCISM box I picked up at Toy Fair.
Dana made labels.
Played THE MEMORY BOOK GAME with the Horns. First the four of
us played. Although I [illegible word crossed out] did best [above crossed out word], BB and Dave also were quite
good. Didn't finish a 50 point game. Then I played with
Laurie and Allan. He was quite good.
The kids left and the the four of us played JACK POTS 6. The first
game BB ran away with. The second was quite close and
Barbara said that gets it was much better now.
Played with [illegible word crossed out] 9 jack pot cards, which seems the optimum.
(Cont. from 12/26) [12/26]
Showcase shows repacking of PROBE, and "Etch A Sketch"-
"has new play dimensions, a series of games designed to be
played on the screen. Games include baseball, maze games
and number games
Bob Champer over brought the repros of the maps for the
two campaigns he is working on, but forgot to bring the
Yorktown, which he does have. Discussed the victory
conditions for the three campaigns and Bob took notes. He'll
bring me the other maps this coming Saturday. Washington
Gave him copies of the bookshelf PATTON and MACARTHUR
Call from Claude about which kids are coming tomorrow:
Mary Ellen, Raymond, Richie, and Mant__, Claude said that
they would appreciate another copy of ACQUIRE, Theirs is
worn out from playing.
Adela and Al Richter mentioned that Brian and his
friend liked THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS so much that
Adela wanted to buy him a copy. Then finally located a
store that had some of the Springbok games, but not
THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS, They bought two copies of
FITTING & PROPER, one for each boy, and then discovered
that I had invented it.
Gave Al S&T #47,
Played quite a few games of SPRINGER with Al. Discovered
that one space seemed to lead to an unbeatable position.
I'll make some changes to introduce more dead ends so that
there can be more defensive play. To avoid unbeatable positions I
will include a variation for advanced players where they divide
two, or more, of the spaces before starting play. Also thinking of
having players actually fill in the 🔺's [triangles] with their color.
For the 7th game for THE ART OF GAMES (see 12/19) I think
