16 FRIDAY - NOVEMBER 1973
320TH DAY - 45 DAYS TO COME
Invite from Bea Ecks of I - S Unlt. to a charity art show. $10
a ticket.
On S & T stationery sent for copy of MUFKI - PUFKI.
Sent for subscription and backnumber info on SUPERNOVA.
Call from Phil Orbanes. In the matter of the new batch of
p & p games he has arranged to bypass Carl Eisenberg,
who is up to his neck in other duties. Instead he will give
Mattie (??) about 4 at a time to try out at home.
So far he has given him these 4 games: LAND BARON;
MISSING LINK (HEX); THE GREAT RACES (my 11 RACES -
Phil wrote the rules); TRIVIA (CATEGORIES).
Phil gave me a format to use in writing the rules to
insure uniformity.
Phil wants me to have the rules for as many of my
games as possible ready by 11/26. Because of the energy
shortage he definitely wants WILDCAT, but with a smaller
field so that the game will move faster. Also he has my
rules for HEXOWORD which previously was the most popular
of my original 6 games.
Incidentally, Phil was told not to consider Carl's original
rejection, but to resubmit everything.
Phil will call me on 11/20 to discuss all the possibilities.
Carl told Phil that he hears from Hallmark that they definitely
expect to sell 100,000 of each of the six puzzle-games.
(THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS, FITTING & PROPER, etc.) (This year??)
Dale's Phil brought me a clipping from BUSINESS WEEK with an
article on "Video Games" - including PONG, ODYSSEY, and
GOTCHA. The 1st and 3rd are by "Atari". (Filed in '73 Misc.)
