3 TUESDAY - JULY 1973
184TH DAY - 181 DAYS TO COME
While writing up the diary wanted to look at my copy of
WIDE WORLD TRAVEL GAME. Couldn't find it, but then
remembered that I had used the box for my game
THESE UNITED STATES (I am pretty sure) and found the
equipt. [equipment] and board in another large box.
Rcd. [received] a letter from {THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF GAMES
{Drawer E
{Odenton, Maryland 21113
which is a mail order game club. Mentioned Lou Zocchi
and offered bargains on ALIEN SPACE, RICHTOFEN'S WAR,
and BATTLE OF BRITAIN.
Rcd. [received] some info from Alister Macintyre : - short description
of GROW - "A BIOLOGICAL UNIVERSE; CROSS THEME PUZZLE #1;
news of CINCY-GAMERS, including the upcoming convention.
On envelope he says "Letter Follows."
In June PLAYTHINGS saw article saying the Toy industry has
hit a $4 billion retail - while the piece on the
INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW says that Games, Puzzles, and
Miniatures is $1 billion retail, Called Beth at S.P.I. to
tell her.
Thought of two ideas for 3D BOXES; "seeding" the board
with 6 verticals and 8 horizontals: not allowing placement
of a rod that only joins one rod at one end and
nothing at the other end. Played a lot with myself, and
then with BB. It seemed to play quite well. One thing - it
might have been coincidence, but the one who went first
always seemed to win.
