13 Wednesday - June 1973
164th Day - 201 Days to Come
Rcd. [received] letter from Earl Doherty. Mentioned HOLEY TERROR,
GROOVE, HABITAT, TAKE-A-WORD, and KGB. Mentioned
that neither House of Games nor Waddingtons likes dealing
thru agents. He may be at the INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW.
Finished the diagrams for SPECTRUM and HONORABLE RELATIONS
while and after BB typed the rules. To Boston Post Road
for copies. Made a box for HONORABLE RELATIONS. Also
prepared 12 set-up sheets. (At Boston Post Road got more
copies of the set-up sheets.)
Rcd. [received] a package from Lakeside with 3D BOXES (in good
condition) and a letter from George DeLaney. He can make
the game but he doesn't like the play.
Call from Claude. Among other things, discussed the
book HEADS I WIN TAILS YOU LOSE that he will loan me some
day. It discusses the psychological reasons for who plays
what.
Arranged to meet tomorrow.
Rcd. [received] a copy of ARCHIEBALL from Skor-Mor-airmail.
(cont. from 6/14) [6/14]
Gave Felicia the rules for SPECTRUM and she mailed them to Kathy.
Showed her HONORABLE RELATIONS. She was having company at home
and wouldn't have a chance to mail it until Monday. I offered
to mail it with a jiffy bag. She said that she'd manage somehow,
but I said it wouldn't be a big problem to me.
Showed the letter from Earl Doherty to her. She looked at it
briefly and I told her I'd get a copy for her.
Herb wanted to sell the WATERGATE CAPER game as it was.
Without fixing the rules. He showed it around but no one
would pay $8.00 buy it for $8.00 retail.
Bought a jiffy bag and then to Simulations where Phil
taped it shut and weighed it for me, HONORABLE RELATIONS
that is.
Spoke to Redmund and told him that I tried but couldn't
get my S&T column finished till after Chicago. O.K.
From Beth got two letters: From Hypergames asking if I had rcd. [received]
HYPERCHECKERS AND HYPERCHESS; from Skor-Mor saying they
are sending me ARCHIEBALL and will be sending me PRIME TIME,
PETER PRINCIPLE, and YESTER YEAR.
Made repros [reproductions] of the letter from Earl Doherty and of the
one on 3D BOXES and later dropped it in Felicia's
mail slot.
Spoke to Al Zygier of the art dept. [department] He has a
