8 FRIDAY - JUNE 1973
159TH DAY - 206 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a letter from Joseph R. Marfuggi of EVI. Mentioned
WORLD Magazine, PINK PEBBLES and THE GARBAGE GAME.
Thinking of a GAME idea triggered by CIRCO LOGIC (see 6/2). There
are series of concentric circles leading to a central circle - no
division of the circles. Each player has a set of pcs. with numbers
from - say - 2 to 6 on them. Players start their pcs. on the
outside circle. Then can move them in one space on a turn. When
the number of pcs. in a circle equals the number on one of the pcs. that
pc. moves one space inward and can set up a chain reaction. (Rough
idea to be developed.)
Call from John Fernandez. At first he suggested driving to the
INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW together, but he is only going for a few
days. He will be selling the Simulation Games and would appreciate
if I could spell him for a few minutes occasionally.
Catching up on game diary during day.
(cont. from 6/23) [6/23]
me.
He gave me a copy of his CROSS THEME PUZZLE #2. Also an
announcement of "Third Annual Cincinnati Games Convention."
The game QUEBEC 1759 came up. Alister said that the head
of Gamma Two told him that the almost certain English win
could be equalized by giving the English 4 ships instead of 5.
Spoke to Ed Bauman about his THE WATERGATE SCANDAL. He said
to send my review to him c/o American Symbolic Corp.
Bought a copy of Guidon Games' FIGHT IN THE SKIES for $6.
In an envelope rather than a box.
Bought a copy of a reproduced [illegible crossed out] edition of
FLETCHER PRATT"S NAVAL WAR GAME, for $2.00. Most of it is
the same as the copy I have, but there is some new material.
Bought a copy of CONFLICT Magazine #4. The center fold game is
NORAD. There is variant of ASSASSIN! called ZOMBIE!. At present their only boxed game is DUNKERQUE - 1940. They will
be issuing one called LOOPHOLE - about taxes. (Cost of magazine - $2.50.)
Rcd. June 1973 PLAYTHINGS. Mentions the INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW
(but not me). An ad does mention me.
