11 SUNDAY * FEBRUARY 1973

and THE GAMESLETTER.

(cont. from 2/9) [2/9]
When Jerry spoke to Bill Dohrmann, he said he would be willing
to accept a percentage less than 5% on a sliding scale
depending on the advance - for TOP DOG. Dohrmann said that wouldn't
be fair to Jerry.
(cont. from 2/22) [2/22]
close between it and my LOTTERY. He pretty much said that mine
was a better game, but the other has a catchier theme.
I asked which one of the new word games was by Alan Turoff - BOGGLE.
Bill said that Parker is now only looking at things by pros
or submitted by agents.
To Americana Hotel to Frank and Jerry's room. BB joined us.
Jerry has an option from Lakeside on an item he has 40% of. He'll
get $1000 down and $4000 more if it is taken - as an advance. The
item is called SWEEP and is a wire gadget that turns around
and knocks pcs. [pieces] down, which are then returned
to the start.
[Diagram of a wire extending from a black box from left to right. It has 4 kinks in it that extend downwards.]
CONTIGO was supposed to come out this spring, but now 3M tells
Frank maybe next spring.
Frank and I played a game of STACTICS (see 2/24/72). The pcs. [pieces] are as shown,
[Diagram of 6 pieces in the shape of a cross laying on its side, divided into 6 square regions. From left to right they are labeled as red, yellow, green, blue, orange, and white. Each contains a variety of symbols - circles, diamonds, and squares - except for the white one which has all six squares empty.]
with 6 of each type.
The die has one
color on each face. When working on a plane a cube must be placed
with an edge against at least one cube already down. In scoring, 3
of a player's symbol in a row scores 5. (The rest of the rules are
as given before.) Frank was thinking of adding a dispenser to cut
down the number of cubes from 36 to 30 or possibly 28. I suggested
cards instead. There can be one for each cube. Also with cards
a more skill version can be played by dividing the cards equally
into halves, or thirds if 3 are playing. Frank liked the idea.
Frank has a 2-D version of STACTICS, played on a vertical board
Didn't go into the details. Tentative name - RAC-A-TAC.
Frank had a two-hand game developed by the inventor of
BALI-BUTTONS. It uses the same mechanism with two boards.
(cont. on 2/12)
