that it is definitely not dead but it will have to wait until the finances have stabilized and the potential market has been researches.
Jim gave me a repro of a page from a history book with a Hitler game - JUDEN RAUS! (OUT WITH THE JEWS!)
From Phil and Sal got the following boxed games that I didn't get before : - DARK AGES, BATTLE OF STALINGRAD, SOLDIERS, MOSCOW CAMPAIGN, GRENADIER, KURSK, 1918
To fill out a box Phil was packing took duplicates of DARK AGES and STRATEGY I and 2 of NAPOLEON AT WATERLOO. Also about a dozen back numbers of S&T and MOVES, including "Books I, II, and III."
I asked and Jim gave me $7 in expense money, and also some stationery.
Ran off 20 copies of my column in S&T #35.
Rcd. 2 more copies of my BOOK WORLD column.
Rcd. NOST-ALGIA #152. Phil Cohen describes BEROLINA CHESS. Bill Rawlings describes UNCRASH (from CRASH) and two variants - CRASH PARITY and ALPHABETICAL UNCRASH.
Rcd. letter from Prom Prof. Harley Flanders in Isreal (see 11/29) asking for information on LASCA or LASKERS.
Called Claude who had called before I got in. Wald had spoken to him and we talked a little about the Strongin deal. Claude was feeling better and we decided that BB and I would visit them.
To Claude's bringing him 6 of the "Bekins Boxes." Wouldn't take money for them.
Played THE BRAIN GAME with BB, Anne, Raymond, and Ritchie (Claude not feeling up to it). Used I "Upper Level Substitute," 3 "Middle" and 3 "Lower." Also used the rule that doubles on the white die allowed a trade with any player. A red "1" allows a 1 for trade of different kinds. (Probably better to allow this when red die matches white double.)
