13 WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 1972
348th Day - 18 days to come
Rcd. the rules and the extra pcs. - 16 special octons and 16 "black" pegs -
for playing CRESCENDO. One of the blue octons had the stem broken.
Took a blue peg from the material left over from the Xerox exhibit and
put it in one of the holes. It should take care of it.
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER #45 (#44, Don said, will not come before
the next couple of issues). Had reviews of THE SOMA ADDICT and
THE WFF 'N PROOF NEWSLETTER.
Eve Auchincloss finally called me. Apologized for being too busy to
call before. Told her about the change in the list price of
STRATO TAC-TICS. She is going to Washington tomorrow. She'll
see that a correction is printed. She'll also pick up a copy or
two of the BOOK WORLD issue with my review.
Rcd. two packages from Simulations (sent by Phil) with the
following games: - THE MARNE, LA GRAND ARMEE, BARBAROSSA,
LEIPZIG, 1812, NORMANDY. (Thought there were parts missing
from the last two. But later found out that they were not
separate charts.)
(cont. from 12/14) [12/14]
Jed Gaines came in and thanked me for the review of
MYWORD! in BOOK WORLD. Someone had sent him a clipping from
Washington.
Phil showed me an article "The Game Game" from Dec. 9, 1972
issue of SATURDAY REVIEW. Made a copy.
Also copied the rules for CASTELLO which they bought. (See
8/21 for the board.)
Rcd. 2 copies of the 12/3/72 BOOK WORLD with my article.
Rcd. Dec. PLAYTHINGS. There is mention of M.B.'s acquisition of E.S. Lowe.
Parker ad shows a new card game - WATERWORKS
Small article about Education Ventures Inc. (EVI) and two of
their games - PINK PEBBLES and GENERATION RAP.
Showcase also shows ON-WORDS, PIVOT POOL, and KISMET.
Bought a 1973 game diary - $2.25.
Phil is interested in TRIC TRAC to include in their
BACKGAMMON set. If they use it I'll be paid for translating
it from French.
Phil will contact me about getting together in the middle of
January to play more REALM and discuss the other projects.
In the meantime he'll send me the latest rules for
all the REALM versions so that I can possibly play with others.
