5 TUESDAY - DECEMBER 1972
340TH DAY - 26 DAYS TO COME
Felicia called. Racinelli will be there sometime Thursday
afternoon but can't set a specific time. I'll go there right
after lunch and wait for him.
Told her I'd bring FREE FORM, FOREIGN INTRIGUE and
THE BRAIN GAME.
Rcd. PANZERFAUST #56. Contains articles on ANZIO, 1914, HANNIBAL,
DUNKIRK, D-DAY (three variants), PANZERBLITZ, SPANISH MAIN,
& THE BROTHERHOOD (with a mention of VERDUN). There are ads for
FIGHT IN THE SKIES and DUNKIRK. A separate game -
THE INVASION OF SICILY is also included.
Made a new package for FOREIGN INTRIGUE. Also fixed up the
interior of the box in which I had FREE FORM. Dana put black
contact on the box tops and made labels.
(cont. from 12/6) [12/6]
game project they will get the rest in the spring. If not
the game will go back to them at that time.
According to Strongin Hasbro is not in financial trouble,
not serious in any case. Old man Hasenfeld thought the new
management was going too fast and insisted on their slowing down.
Howard Wexler is now working for (or is it with) Ned Strongin.
They are interested in having Arthur, Wald, Claude, and me
working under Howard again. They can't promise us an
advance, like Hasbro. But they think they can make it worthwhile.
If Hasbro decides not to go ahead with the games they
took from us this year (HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME, etc.)
Strongin may buy them back. He told Arthur that in this case he would
give the inventor a cut, even tho he doesn't have to.
They'd like to have a meeting in the not-too-distant future.
I suggested Friday 12/22. Arthur asked me to call Claude
and then call him, Arthur, back. Told him I'd have Claude call
him.
Called Claude and told him the story. He's interested as long
as Strongin doesn't expect exclusivity.
Incidentally, Strongin will get 50% off the top.
In my talk with Phil Orbanes he mentioned that Hoi Polloi
is cooling off on the idea of the p & p games. They have too
many other high ticket items on the fire. Now they are
thinking of a package of games for $5.00.
Phil is going to try and get thru to Bill Knox about
GROOVE, etc. by saying that Reiss is calling.
