Wrote up IMAGE and THE HOWARD HUGHES GAME for BOOK WORLD col [page cut off]
Call from Ed Wallace (I think that was his name) of the
DAILY NEWS. He was, as part of his "housekeeping" duties,
doing a column answering questions. One was on the origins
of CHINESE CHECKERS. Told him about HALMA.
Mike Albers told him about me after he called Parker and
they told him to check with Mike.
(cont. from 11/14) [11/14]
description of the material, for a game PAR GOLF. (The
rules are not at all clear.)
Joel is very much interested in GOLF. He has an action
game that Phil figures would have to retail for $100.
Since Phil had an article in it, I gave him the copy of
MOVES #5 I took from Jim D.
We went over the outline of a letter I will send to Joel
with my impressions of REALM. Phil will call me tomorrow
and I'll read him the final letter.
Phil played all the REALM variations yesterday with Von
Zedwitz (spelling?) and he likes them. But Phil still
wants to get Joel convinced.
In mail rcd. another copy of S&T #34.
Rcd. GAMESLETTER #42. In the review of GAMERS GUIDE #32 he mentions a review of Alister Macintyre's game
GAMBIT. Among other things he mentions G&P and LIFELINE [page cut off]
Rcd. a catalog from Hammacher Schlemmer. Tore out pages with [page cut off]
picture of PACHINKO and PETITS CHEVAUX. (filed in '72 Misc.)
Rcd. the S.E.C. report on R.G.I. together with a letter from Ken Morgan
Letter from Earl. He wants Claude to pick up a three volume set
of TEST YOUR WITS. He wrote to Al Richter about DON'T BLOW A FUSE [page cut off]
He wrote to Slocum suggesting that he look at a copy of
THE GUIDE TO SIMULATION GAMES FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING and
also ACQUIRE, BAZZAAR, and EXECUTIVE DECISION; then, if he [page cut off]
interested get back to us about an insurance GAME.
