1 WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 1972
ALL SAINT'S DAY - 308TH DAY - 60 DAYS TO COME
Thought of an idea for naming the pieces in REALM - "Sorcerer,"
"Thrall" and "Castle." Later when Phil called I told him.
He definitely liked Sorcerer. He is not sure about Thrall.
He came up with "Tower" instead of castle and I agreed.
Phil wanted to give me Herb Hochstetter's address to send him
the Post games (SUPER-TAC-TOE etc.) but I said that it
would be better to let Herb call me and make arrangements
when he has something set up.
Rcd. [received] a package from Don Turnbull with ALBION no. 40 and
repros of no. 5 thru [through] no. 18. Some comments on a quick run-thru [run-through]:-
No. 5:- Some rules disputes in DIPLOMACY. Mention of DIPLOBOURSE.
No. 6:- Rules for HYPERSPACE DIPLOMACY. More DIPLOMACY disputes.
No. 7:- More DIPLOMACY rules disputes.
No. 8:- " " " "
No. 9:- " " " "
No. 10:- Review of TACTICAL GAME 3. More DIPLOMACY rules disputes.
Mention of PARLEMENT.
No. 11:- Rules for ABSTRACTION (ABERRATION V). Review of NORMANDY.
No. 12:- DIPLOMACY varients [variants] already copied at Simulations. (see 4/24)
No. 13:- BUSINESS GAME NUMBER ONE mention.
No. 14:- BUSINESS GAME NUMBER ONE rules.
No. 15:- BUSINESS GAME NUMBER ONE addition. Review of 1918.
No. 16:- Review of FLYING FORTRESS 1. First mention of my S & T column.
No. 17:- Review of BARBAROSSA.
No. 18:- Nothing in particular.
No. 40:- ANZIO rules clarifications. Review of FLUTTER, SPECULATE,
and the THE STOCK MARKET GAME. Reviews of MONAD,
SLEUTH, and VENTURE. Rules of MAH-JONGG [MAH-JONG]. A loose supplement
with additions to ATLANTICA - which originally was in no. 37.
Also delivered by Post Office was copy of THE HOWARD HUGHES GAME.
Called Eve Auchincloss. My addition to the BOOK WORLD column
should not be more than 450 words at the most. She'd like
some change in the intro to bring in the ye end of year theme.
Called Irv Lubow at Renwal (since Phil said they are moving.
to Penna. soon). I asked him about getting back my rights
to TAM-BIT and TAKE FIVE. He suggested mailing him copies
of the contract and a letter requesting the return, which
he can sign and mail back to me.
Call from Ken Morgan. He has been in Europe for some time
and may move to Austria permanently.
He wondered if he should contact Felicia about trying to place
MOVIE MOGULS with another company. I thought he could do as well
by himself. He'll start with Family Games (Urban Systems)
and I gave him the address.)
He has another GAME almost finished.
His partner thought that I had done MOVIE STARS for R.G.I.
Told him that I definitely did not.
