11 WEDNESDAY - OCTOBER 1972
285TH DAY - 81 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. [received] a call from Bob McCumber of 3M publicity
[phone number]. He was contacted by David Elsner who works at
the Chicago Bureau of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. He is inter-
ested in a front page piece on game inventors. McCumber told
Elsner about me and gave him my number. He thinks I will be
hearing from him. Told him McCumber I'd let him know if I do
get contacted.
After 5 called Mrs. Rose Wilson of NEO Press. Thanked her for
the Y and POLY-Y material she sent and apologized for not
writing for so long. Asked her to tell Chuck Titus I would be writ-
ing to him about PSYCHE-PATHS.
Told her of my column in S & T and possible one in BOOK WORLD.
The book MUDCRACK Y is still being sold at $1.50, post paid-
together with a supplement on POLY-Y and Vol. 1 of Y NEWSLETTER
(the only one so far).
The set of 3 boards and two containers of stones for MUDCRACK Y
and POLY-Y sells for $10 east of the Mississippi River and
$10.80 west - both post paid.
She said she'd like to subscribe to S & T. I told her I'd send her
a copy to see if she likes it.
I thought that I didn't have the POLY-Y supplement and she's
sending me one. (later I discovered I had it.)
Called Bill Eckhart in Portland, [illegible word crossed out] after working on JUNGLE RACE and
deciding that the animals on the board should be boxed, with
the boxes behind each other. Arranged with Bill to bring in a
new set of rules on Friday at 3. (His number in Portland -
[phone number].) He said, in answer to my question, that VIEWLINE was
well received.
Claude called. He visited Earl in Albany. Aparantly [apparently] Earl didn't
received my letter returning the card of the fellow interested
in the insurance GAME. I'll have to write to him after the
Richters visit.
Claude and Earl were discussing making NYGA a more formal
organization. Claude and I discussed it, with no definite con-
clusions.
Had an idea for a p. & p. GAME. There are 2 6x6 layouts on
the sheet with numbers in each box. There is also col-
umns, or some other layout, of numbers set up so that as
one player chooses one he frees one or more for the other
player. First to complete a line of 6 scores 1 point. First
to complete two lines scores 2 points, etc. (The scoring
idea I didn't use for VIEWLINE.)
