19 SATURDAY - AUGUST 1972
232ND DAY - 134 DAYS TO COME
Kathy Brooks sent me repros of two very flattering letters they
rcd. on ACQUIRE, together with a short note.
Rcd. a card from Publishers Central Bureau that they are sending
me a $1.49 credit (it place should be $1.98) in place of
MATHEMATICAL DIVERSIONS. (Discarded the card.)
Rcd. a letter from Haar Hoolim. Sent me the rules for STOPLO.
Mentioned ARMOR, UP, CHINESE MATCHING CARDS, GO, DOWN, HAAR HOOLIM PERCEPTION GAMES.
Rcd. Wrote to Graeme Levin. Told him I was very busy for the next
two weeks and that we could talk about everything (G
(GAMES & PUZZLES, etc.) when he comes to New York in a few weeks.
Mike Abrams called long distance from Florida. He is considering
going to Sweden to try and clinch a deal for them to do his
BLOCK 'N SCORE. He wondered if I had done a review that he could
take with him. Told him I wouldn't do it until my next column, but that
he could say I like it. He asked if I could suggest some company
to do a commercial edition, since shirts doesn't mind. I told him
that he'll have to work thru Felicia since I couldn't give away
her trade secrets.
Actually he was very considerate about my being so busy - and
I tried to be as helpful as I could.
Working on the game diary, which is about a month behind.
(cont. from 8/20) [8/21]
or PEACE at all. They did like GREAT WALL OF CHINA,
SPACE STATIONS, FREEWORD, and SOLITAIRE DICE which they
might call POLISH DICE after I told them about Lech's letter.
They want the rules for the 7 games by Friday so that
Manny, who volunteered can try them out over the weekend.
Carl started bothering us about the original 6 games (XANDO
etc..) and Bob joined in. Manny said it would be better
from all points of view to forget about them.
Phil [illegible crossed out] volunteered to write the rules for SPACE STATION,
RENDEZVOUS, and ALONE TOGETHER - leaving me only FREEWORD.
While I was out Felicia called and told BB that she had
a letter from Hallmark. Some of the games, including
my ANOTHER and PE-LING will be out next spring.
Call from Claude. He wanted a little general encouragement
concerning the things he's doing for HASBRO.
[Started 8/21] {More working on game diary. Close to caught
