18 FRIDAY - AUGUST 1972
231ST DAY - 135 DAYS TO COME
Drew up 6 fairly rough boards for VIMGO and fixed up
6 reels.
Called Wally Siegel. He didn't know where the article
mentioning ACQUIRE was. He is pretty sure it was from the magazine
CHAIN STORE AGE, a few weeks ago. If not there
it may have been in TOY & HOBBY WORLD or DISCOUNT STORE NEWS
Told him I had another game. He said he'll be very busy
while Bill Eckhart is on vacation. I'd better wait until Bill returns.
Phil Orbanes called. The date is set for Carl Eisenberg's
office at 5 next Monday.
Herb Hochstetter called. Thru an advertising agency (Grey - I believe)
Post Cereals are looking for games to use as premiums.
He asked about the six p. and p. games (XANDO, etc.). I told
him that Fred Feucht had the prototypes and is trying to
sell them. Also that if he and Fred agree on an arrangement I'm
sure it will be O.K. with me.
Called Phil and told him about Herb's call.
Phil has a new game game idea, PEACE - which is based on
the version of CONFRONTATION he did for Renwal. He also has an
idea for making SPACE STATIONS into a solitaire game,
Phil and Dale brought me duplicate copies of SOLDIERS,
THE MOSCOW CAMPAIGN, THE FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR.
Also a letter from an S & T reader who is interested in
where to get some of the games I mentioned in my column.
Played VIMGO with BB and the Horns. They liked it. The first
two times we played that a player continued until he saw
"Next Reel" or until he saw a picture no one could use. In the
third, a player could stop whenever he decided to. It was better.
(Cont. from 8/22) [8/24]
Mike Alber called. Someone sent him the 2nd part of the
article from GAMES & PUZZLES on TAKE THE BRAIN.
He asked if I had the others. Told him I'd send him repros
of part 1 now and part 3 when I got it.
They had a SMESS championship at 200 Fifth Ave. Boris
Notgoodenuf was the defending champion. He played me a tape of the
WINS report on it.
