8 TUESDAY - AUGUST 1972
221ST DAY - 145 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER (#40).
Rcd. card from Don Miller. He rcd. Feudal FEUDAL & TWIXT.
He'll send me a copy of THE GAMESMAN #1 as soon as he can dig
it out of the stack. Hopes to have the French-language mags.
back soon, to send me.
Rcd. notice that my NOST dues are due 9/1.
Call from Felicia. She rcd. my check. She got a new catalog
from 3M which she says is beautiful. IMAGE is first,
EXECUTIVE DECISION is second.
She asked who I am dealing with at G.A.F. and I told her Wally Siegel
and asked her why she asked. A potential client has
something connected with a View Master - probably an educational
device. I said that if it is an educational device I don't mind,
but I'd rather not help a stranger compete with me in games.
She said she understands perfectly, and will form her own contacts if
she goes with the client.
Called Leonard Willett. I'll meet him at Bus Terminal on 8/16, give him
the contracts and drive him to I.R.S.
Went thru Hallmark and 3M files. Determined that I needed the following
contracts from Felicia : - ANOTHER, FITTING & PROPER, DIGIT,
PE-LING, SIT DOWN & THINK (now BAZAAR),
[Illegible game names crossed out.]
& SEARCH (now SLEUTH).
Got JUNGLE RACE and THE FAIRY TALE GAME completely ready.
Working on equipment for FIGHT CITY HALL and started the rules.
Spoke to Al Nofi about the jig-saw puzzles (see 8/4). He doesn't
know why Franklin Merchandising sent them. He would like some
of them if i don't need them all.
Fay Hartog called. The warehouse has no record of the returned
copies of AGOG. Sometimes the stores get a credit without
returning books. Others are taken at the warehouse.
(cont. from 8/9) [8/10]
To Bill Eckhart at G.A.F. and saw Wally Siegel for a moment.
Bill showed me art work on the board and some sketches
of the animals - for JUNGLE RACE. He asked my opinion
and I made some suggestions, such as having a light
jungle picture in the background - rather than differently
colored squares that the artist used.
We looked at the fairy tale reels that they have for
possible use in THE FAIRY TALE GAME, but very few
pictures were appropriate. They will probably have their
people in Portland come up with something. However I con-
