2 WEDNESDAY - AUGUST 1972
215TH DAY - 151 DAYS TO COME
BB suggested that I call Felicia since I wasn't available
the last two times she called. Did and she called me back.
She was angry at 3M and wanted to call them and raise
hell. I pointed out that we had often gotten statements
a week into the new month, and finally disuaded her.
Two more calls during day. First she wanted me to do the
advertising follow-the-dots for Rappaport's for $50. Then
she called the Lillian Voegelin needs the money and would
like to try it. I certainly didn't mind.
The man from NBC's game was sent to her SIJJEH tho she told
him not to send the model. It is beautiful and quite dramatic.
The inventor says it is a modernization of a game played by
natives (in a country I can't remember). Later looked at
A HISTORY OF BOARD GAMES OTHER THAN CHESS and I believe
it must be a relative of SIGA.
Brentanos is dropping the Wff 'N Proof line.
Felicia asked if I was working on anything now and I told her
about THE BRAIN GAME. Actually she said that no one
is looking now. She also said that Dorothy Shapiro said that
business games are doing very poorly.
Jerry D'Arcey called from New York. In town to try and sell
some games, mainly an improved EARTHQUAKE. Wanted to
invite him tonight but BB suggested tomorrow because of MAH JONG tonight.
Rcd. 13 pictures of the Xerox exhibit and a note from [illegible crossed out]
Mary McKee. Not exactly the pictures I asked for,
but they'll be O.K.
Call from Earl. Wanted to get together, but I am just too busy.
Going over my personal diaries for 1969 and 1970 getting entertainment
expenses for those two years for the tax audit tomorrow.
(cont. from 8/8) [8/10]
[con]firmed by asking that they are not crazy about the game.
But they are very enthused about JUNGLE RACE.
Bill asked if ACQUIRE was my game. They had an article from
a magazine on what made a game a staple. Among the
staples ACQUIRE was listed first. I asked to see the article
but it was in Wally's (locked) room. Also he didn't remember
the magazine. I'll call next Tuesday to ask again.
Promised to bring Bill a copy of AGOG.
At dad's played two games of 500 RUMMY and lost both.
Called Arthur to discuss today a little. We agreed that
I'll stay with CASINO ROYALE and they'll stay with
(cont. on 7/31)
