10 MONDAY - JULY 1972
192ND DAY - 174 DAYS TO COME
Finished the letter to Don Turnbull I started on 7/5. Mentioned
EXECUTIVE DECISION, SLEUTH, ALBION, COURIER, GAMES & PUZZLES,
AGOG, FOCUS, PATTERNS II, BUSINESS GAME (MINE A MILLION),
BLAST OFF, SPECULATE, HIGH FINANCE,
DIPLOMACY.
Felicia called. She has been getting literature from the
INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW. She thought it would be a good
idea for me to call Bill Caruson, collect, and suggest
that 3M send me there to represent them.
I thought about it and then called her back and suggested that
it would be more appropriate for her, as my agent, to blow
my horn. She said she'd call Bill, not collect.
Called Bernie Lane to see if I could pick up the Xerox games
when I go to Leonard Willett's tomorrow. They won't reach
there until Thursday.
Call from Felicia. She contacted Bill Caruson. He thanked her
for suggesting my going to the show, but didn't think they would
send me. Jim Kraus will be there, and they don't think
there will be any buyers there.
Felicia asked Bill how things were going and said he
thought things were improving. ACQUIRE keeps going ahead.
Felicia said she hoped that EXECUTIVE DECISION would be
another ACQUIRE, but Bill implied it wouldn't be.
Bob Johnson has been quite sick, but should be back at work
shortly.
Chuck Daugherty brought a client to Felicia who had some kind of
electrical GAME system. I asked if it was something like
the "Computamatic Games". She said it was simpler. In
trying to sell it she learned that Ideal and M.B. are working
on something of a similar nature.
Bill Dohrmann came to town to look at it. He liked it but
definitely not for next year. (We guess that he is waiting to
see how the other two make out.)
Felicia mentioned to Bill that she wants someday to have
a Sid Sackson game with Parker. Bill didn't answer it at all.
Bill looked at Lillian's WHAT'S IT WORTH IN DOLLARS?
and took it back with him.
The gal who called me about RED, WHITE, AND BLUE got the game
to her. She thought it was an attractive game but decided
she couldn't sell it. She has a picture which she will show
me when I go there.
When Bill Dohrmann was there she showed it to him (??)
but he already has LANDSLIDE.
The gal (& her husband who was with her) said that 3M
was interested in it. But when she mentioned that to Bill
Caruson he said that if she could do anything else with it,
by all means do so.
In Felicia's talk with Caruson she asked about SKYSCRAPERS.
