16 TUESDAY - MAY 1972
137TH DAY - 229 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. NOST-ALGIA (Apr. '72 - #144). Had rules for
SCOTTISH CHESS. Phil Cohen gave rules for LOA (and
mentioned AGOG). Also gave a CRASH problem taken from
WORD WAYS.
Sent $5 as 1 year subscription to PANZERFAUST.
Wrote to Don Laycock. Mentioned QUERIES 'N THEORIES, S & T,
GAMES & PUZZLES, SLEUTH, THE GATE OF THE SUN,
NORTH FACE, PIRATES, and JIGSCORE.
Wrote to Don Miller. Mentioned FEUDAL, TWIXT, THE GAMESMAN,
LE JEU DU LIESNARD BELLIQUEUX.
Wrote to Stanley Chess (see 4/1) an AGOG reader. Mentioned
S & T, EXECUTIVE DECISION, SLEUTH. Sent COMBINATION column.
Called Wally Siegel of G.A.F. Not in and sect. said he'd call.
Worked out a game-puzzle (later called PAIR-OFF) based on
taking chips off a random set-up, two of the same
color at a time.
(cont. from 5/17) [5/22]
Also took an ad sheet for SHOTZEE.
To John N. Hansen. Spoke to Booth A. Tripp about a game LAND-BARON.
Borrowed a set of the rules.
Met Claude and we had supper together. He was given a copy of
May PSYCHOLOGY TODAY and I took a clipping on a construction set
called IDENTITIES.
Claude showed WATCH to Bill Knox and he was interested. Claude told him
of the problem with Paul Milazzo and that he had shown it to
Stewart Kaplan of U.S. Game Systems at the Premium Show.
He is thinking of making the objective of LOA getting all
the pieces on pictured spaces, using travel pictures, and calling
it FAR AWAY PLACES.
Felicia called during the day & I called her back. Shelly Lieberman,
head of Ed-U-Cards, will be at her office when I get there tomorrow.
I'm not to say who Bob Johnson is.
Felicia spoke to Ennio Racinelli about LOTTERY and he said it was too
regional in appeal. Bill Dohrmann called her but they spoke about
other things and she forgot to ask him about LOTTERY.
