15 MONDAY - MAY 1972
136TH DAY - 230 DAYS TO COME
Called Mickey Mackay to ask whether there would be any
games at the "Cadeaux" breakfast. Yes. Told her
I'd be there. (See 5/9.)
Dropped a note to Gini Scott inviting her for supper during
Stationery Show.
Wrote to Haar Hoolim. Mentioned YOUR MOVE, SHOGI,
THREE-DIMENSIONAL CHESS, TOROIDAL CHESS, VECTOR, ARMOR,
BITS, TAKE BALL TAKE ALL, SUIT YOURSELF, STOPLO (STOPOLO),
LET ME THINK, UP.
Sent a copy of QUERIES 'N THEORIES to Don Laycock by surface mail.
Called Claude. (Friday Felicia told me that he had been trying to
contact her - without success.) Claude wanted to know what
he should work on. I told him to check on that with Felicia
after Stationery Show. If he has anything that Hallmark
might like he should bring it to her.
He wondered about his old game SUSPENSE and I said why
not try it.
Felicia wanted him to take a color picture of his action game
SAMMY THE SWINGING DRAGON so that she doesn't have to send the
model. He thinks she should do it for her fee.
We talked about making LOA, with the 2-hand version, look different.
I suggested using circles with lines connecting them and
leaving out the 4 corner spaces.
(cont. from 5/23) [5/23]
and TOTALLY-- will be in the "first wave". PLANES will definitely
be coming out; WINDOW PLANES will be returned to me;
THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS - Bob is testing it out now.
Their plans at present are to come out with about 12 games at the
end of this year and test market them.
Rode to the stationery Show in Bob's taxi.
To 3M. Showed Jim Kraus SKYSCRAPERS and he liked it. The 9 molds
might be a problem in initial costs. Showed him TORUS in the
Mag-Nif folder and he said there was no problem there.
Asked him if I could pick up some extra copies of SLEUTH at the end
of the show. He told me to take one and then I can get more on
Thursday. He also said he'd send me a case of 3.
He'll check on FOREIGN INTRIGUE when he gets back. I asked and he
doesn't know of any plans for BAZAAR.
To Stancraft but Norton Cross not there.
To Lenorka. Left the copies of GAMES & PUZZLES with Ellen Wood to
look at while I went to next booth.
To Midwest and gave David Zea a copy of S & T (#29 I believe).
He wants to subscribe. Gave him my card so he can keep in touch.
