23 SUNDAY - APRIL 1972
THIRD SUNDAY AFTER EASTER - 114TH DAY - 252 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a call from Walter J. Dykoski, head of Strato-Various.
He wanted to know if the STRATO CHECKERS and the
STRATO TAC-TICS sets had reached me. Told him yes, and that
the latter is in the Xerox exhibit. Told him that the
reviews would be some time in the fall. He'll be at the
Stationery Show and I'll see him there.
(cont. from 4/24) [4/24]
To R.G.I. Bob Gellman showed me the game SCOTLAND YARD. There
was no deduction at all involved. Bob called Bob Schneider in
Lakewood and I spoke with him. He agreed that there was no
deduction involved. I said that I could add some if we get
away from actual historical characters..He said it would be O.K.
For a financial arrangement he suggested 3% to me and 2%
to the originator. I also asked for an advance and he agreed to
that, probably. He said he'd get a proposal prepared, and I
said that I'd start thinking about the game. Took the
material with me.
Bob Schneider said that he had sent in money for a S & T
subscription 3 or 4 months ago and hadn't heard from them.
I said I'd check on it for him. Dropped in at the Skunk Works
and gave the info to Fred Schachter. He said he'd look into
it at once.
Stopped at Jose Mendez and told the secretary (see 4/12)
that the copy of NAV-O-STRAT I took from her had the
plastic ships wrong, some missing and some the wrong size.
She said that they have stopped handling Toomey Games
because they are not prefessional in quality. She suggested that
I write to them. Mendez will continue handling the transportation series
(TAXI-CAB, etc.) but will have them manufactured
elsewhere. Told her I'd keep in touch.
At the reproduction store on 4th Ave. bought the last
5 stacking plastic trays they had at $1.44 each. Put them
on the filing cabinet.
(cont. from 4/26) [4/26]
Bob showed me an ad flyer he was preparing in connection
with the group Jed Gaines told me about. HOLIDAY
will be included on this in addition to BRIDGETTE,
VECTOR, MARIENBAD, GROUP THERAPY, etc. Brentano's
name was on the flyer but probably it can be used elsewhere
by filling in the proper name.
Bob has doubts as to whether <u<John Geiger's games -
LOGI-QUAD, etc. - fit in with their concept of boxed
(cont. on 4/22)
