17 FRIDAY - MARCH 1972
ST. PATRICK'S DAY - 77TH DAY - 289 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a letter from S.E. Shifrin of Inter Continental
Features in Australia. Thanked me for sending him
the company addresses. He'll mention my BOOK WORLD column.
He asked about AGOG and also for other adult games that
had been popular in the U.S.
Mentioned that 3M would be publishing in Australia in the
middle of '72.
Mentioned SCRABBLE and THE GODFATHER GAME.
Looked at the book HOW TO PLAY GO and they said that in
some tournaments 4 1/2 points are added to white's territory. Called
Jules Cooper to tell him. On another line and left word for him to
call me back. Didn't.
Expected a call from Marshall Lucas, but didn't get one. (See 3/13).
Called Esther Fink (see 2/22) and made date for 3/20. I'll bring info
on my classification system. She mentioned that they are working
on developing games for school use. I said that developing games
was my specialty and she said that maybe I could work with them.
Drew up isometric drawings of BEAN BAG TARGET, CONNECTION, and MILL.
(cont. from 3/16) [3/16]
sell them to stores himself. I tried my best to disuade him
and I think I did. He'll make up some sample with the two versions
printed on the two sides of a folding board. He'll see if
Felicia can interest a manufacturer in the package. He was
thinking of sending some out to manufacturers himself, but
I told him that wouldn't be fair to Felicia. Argued about money -
he wanted to give me too much in case anything comes of it.
Took his telephone number:
{Rudy Lopez
{[phone number hidden for privacy]
Thinking about DATA; use the cards with the same slots
as I have now and with the address cards. Have a set of
60 markers which match the 60 cards. Under certain
circumstances can sort the cards you hold and take the corresponding
markers. Can score at times and then return the markers scored.
Another idea. Have sheets with 60 spaces corresponding to
the 60 cards. Object to mark them all off. have spaces
allowing each type to be sorted, say, 10 times. If don't get
them all in the 10 tries get a penalty for the missing ones.
Completing a vertical row (of 6) gives a free sort.
Thinking of my GAME idea of 4/17/71 and decided it
(cont. on 3/6)
