8 WEDNESDAY - MARCH 1972
68TH DAY - 298 DAYS TO COME
Drawing up CONNECTION (the name I decided to use instead
of HEX since I eliminated the hexes).
Dana made a rough target for BEAN BAG TARGET and also two
cells for BEAN BAG TAC TOE. BB made a bean bag. We all played
around with it.
Rcd. a letter from Tom Shaw. He is sending me copies of GETTYSBURG
and ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II for the Xerox exhibit. He asked
how EXECUTIVE DECISION was doing (he called it [illegible crossed out]
"Business Executive") since he didn't see it promoted with
other 3M games.
Rcd. a letter from Robert Eckert, forwarded thru Simulations
Publications. He sent a few notes on an alternate method
for SPEED CIRCUIT. He also asked how come I hadn't
reviewed EVADE like I said I was going to.
Another forwarded letter asked for info on SPACEVENTURE. He asked
if I had tried SPACE CHESS, the first playable 3-D CHESS game
he has found.
The magazine INTELLECTUAL DIGEST came (the trial copy). It had
an ad for S & T ; March '72 issue.
(cont. from 3/9) [3/15]
SCRABBLE FOR JUNIORS is missing. He does have a large
SCRABBLE and NUMBLE that he can send. I told him to
send these. He also has a 12' x 12' plastic PARCHEESI board.
Kids can be used for the pcs. Told him I'd check on whether
Exhibition Management would want it.
For display he will send me BALI, RSVP, and a Russian
language SCRABBLE.
To Simulations office. Jim Dunnigan away on vacation.
Phil Orbanes and Red were in a conference with Bob Reiss
and Manny Lefkowitz. Broke in to tell Phil I'd call
him tonight.
Spoke to Al Nofi. Showed him Alfons Rubbens letter of 3/13
asking for a copy of S & T to send to Waddington. Al made a
copy to give to Jim.
Al had a letter for from the one who wrote concerning
BUGS AND LOOOPS (see 3/9). His supervisor absconding with the copy.
I offered to leave a copy of SLEUTH with Al Nofi for
Robert Felice but Al was afraid it might be stolen. He'll tell
Felice that it might can be purchased in Brentano's. If he can't find
one Al will tell him to call me.
Al told me about a game called GUNFIGHT AT O.K. CORRAL which had
been sent to them. They loved it, but decided that it wasn't
right for them. They suggested A.H. and the inventor is going to
