14 MONDAY - FEBRUARY 1972
ST. VALENTINE'S DAY - 45TH DAY - 321 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a check for $14.39 from Tom Atwater for ODD OR EVEN,
TEMPO, and INTERPLAY. No word on TRANSFORMATION. Note
from Tom that he will be at the "Small Wonders" booth during
Toy Fair.
Called Mike Albers office. Mike not in but spoke to Ken Irsay.
Asked him if Parker had any giant size games for promotional purposes.
He said they might have one of RATTLE BATTLE. He
checked with Parker and called me back. RATTLE BATTLE has been
discontinued and they don't have any others. Told him I'd contact
him with the games I want for display.
Called Bernie Lane. He'll come here tomorrow at 8 P.M.
Finished letter to Haar Hoolim. Described ORION, with a diagram
of the whole board. Told him I hear HAAR HOOLIM PERCEPTION GAMES
are doing well. Told him he misunderstood about VECTOR.
Made a 1/4" layout of the area for the Xerox exhibit and
cardboard cutouts of the various games.
Working on a new layout for AIR BATTLE, eliminating the
factories. Added scoring areas on the four edges of the
DRILL FOR OIL layout.
Called Earl. I go there Thursday evening. Told him I'd like to
test some of the pencil & paper games.
The man from Japan he was introduced to has returned. His
company is definitely interest[ed] in our games, and is studying
the possibilities.
Called Claude to tell him of date Thursday.
[Illegible crossed out.]
(cont. from 2/17) [2/17]
tells whether each planet can move forward or retrograde.
The amount of one die or the other can be moved for each
planet or the planet can stay put. When The path is about
20 spaces long with 2 legs next to each other with
arrows showing a counterclockwise motion around the closed path.
When a player gets the four planets into the order matching his
card he gets a card with one of the 4 elements,
corresponding to the space the sun marker is on. Win by getting
all four elements. (Fairly rough idea.)
Played COLD WAR, HEXOWORD, and TOURNEY. In first they suggested
completing with 4. In last Claude went all over the board at
first and then won with a series of free moves.
On Broadway near 15th St. bought the Feb. 1970 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN
for 50 [cents], by mistake instead of Feb. 1971.
(cont. on 2/7)
