Called Felicia to tell her. Got answering machine service and she called
me back, not from office. Told her about the 3M check, and
about BAZAAR. She thinks it was probably remaindered.
Told her I couldn't get my column ready today so that I'll be
in town tomorrow. She doesn't know if she'll be in.
I probably drop by and check. We have to sign the HOLIDAY contract, but no hurry.
Called Red. It's O.K. if I bring in my column tomorrow. He rcd. the
picture of LANDSLIDE.
Felicia called again when she got back to her office. Her check hadn't
come.
She spoke to Dick Littlefield lately. He told her about a law game (later
learned from Jack Davis the name was POINT OF LAW) that is out in
the Bookshelf Line. Felicia was upset because of 3M having had
TORTS-THE GAME OF LAWSUITS so long, and whether they had borrowed
some ideas. But we discussed that Jim Kraus had been involved with
TORTS - THE GAME OF LAWSUITS and he and Keith might not let each
other know what they were doing.
I told her that I probably will be calling Keith Tuggle in a few days
to check whether he rcd. FOREIGN INTRIGUE.
Another call from Felicia. Bob Gellman in for a moment. He did the
blurb for the HOLIDAY box.
I called Bob to check on the blurb but he didn't have it there.
I'll probably see it when I drop off the score pad layout tomorrow.
Called Claude. He still doesn't have his "mystery" GAME
ready. I told him that it was too late now and not to worry.
He said that he'd send it anyway. If they didn't get one
that they liked before, they'd still be interested.
Before this I spoke to Anne (actually Claude called me back)
and she said the game still needed a lot of work.
Rewrote a good bit of what I wrote on MR. PRESIDENT. Then did
THE NEXT PRESIDENT. BB typed it.
Discovered that I had payed Claude 5% of the total payments
for EXECUTIVE DECISION, not on my share, on the 2nd & 3rd quarter
1971. I'll adjust for this without telling Claude.
