13 THURSDAY -JANUARY 1972
13TH DAY - 353 DAYS TO COME
Fay Hartog called. The reprint is out and I will be getting
a $500 advance, from a different office - but it should
be coming in about 2 weeks. I asked about the copies I
ordered and she said they would be $1.50 each. I said
that Miriam Norton had said 65 [cents].
Fay connected me with Miriam. They will pay for 25
free copies and the difference between 65 [cents] and $1.50
for the other 100 copies. She'll contact me when I have
to send a check.
Felicia called. She learned that a previous rep is suing R.G.I.
for $1500 dollars he is owed. Felicia doesn't want to worry
Ruth about it but wants me [to] think about what we should do. The party next Tuesday is still on. Someone came in and
Felicia had to hang up.
Completely finished indexing the 1971 game diary.
Earl and Claude here for supper. Played two games of
XANDO and they liked it. Allowed free choice of spaces in placing
a marker and that worked well.
Played 4-hand FOREIGN INTRIGUE (including BB). Worked so
well that Claude and Earl wanted to play a second time, which
we did.
Claude asked us some of the questions and puzzles and stunts
from his "Knowledge" GAME. I told him that I had serious
doubts as to whether this is what 3M had in mind.
Claude borrowed the book IT IS TO LAUGH to get more material.
Rcd. a card from Phil Cohen asking whether I had rcd. the
missing Parton xerox. If not, which is it? (CHALLENGE AND DELIGHT OF CHESSICAL AND DECIMAL).
Phil asked if I had a copy of ALBION Magazine with a CHESS variant.
Rcd. a letter (form) for lawyers for Gerard Dougherty
and Daniel Ferrone concerning their fight with
R.G. Hubbard for control of "Impact Communications, Inc."
(Filed in I.S. Folder.)
[Illegible crossed out.]
Bob Halllowell said that a model of [???] had been taken to Chicago by Reiss. The buyers hadn't didn't [???] it was worth [???] Now Reiss is [???]
(cont. from 1/14) [2/28]
At hotel stopped @ Frederick Primus, Inc. Looked at
THUMP-ALONG FOOTBALL, an action game with a football player
figure holding a flat plastic ball. This is flipped with the
finger and manipulated in other ways. (Rough idea.)
