7 FRIDAY - JANUARY 1972
7TH DAY - 359 DAYS TO COME
Call from Felicia. Paul Schulman of HACKENSACK RECORD called
her and spoke for about an hour. She mentioned me and he
said that he had already spoken to me. (Felicia wondered
how he had heard of me and I told her it was thru Mike Alber.) Paul
is particularly interested in THE BLACKS & WHITES GAME.
Bob Gellman was in together with Ruth Shaler and liked her slides
for JET HOLIDAY. He also took, for 1973 consideration, HIGH FINANCE
(GOLD) and TORTS - THE GAME OF LAWSUITS.
She spoke to Chuck Titus about PSYCHE-PATHS but had another call
before she had a chance to ask him about the income tax
information for me. She'll drop him a note.
She spoke to Al Richter and he is about ready to look for a
job. He wanted to take his things and try to place them
himself. She didn't think he'd have much success. She'll hold
them till March. Among others, Schaper will be coming in and
she thinks they may be interested in TUMBLE COLORS.
Bob Gellman will have A CENTURY OF GREAT FIGHTS for me on 1/18.
Ken Morgan called. When he got back from Florida he found
a letter from Bob Gellman's partner in R.G.I. saying that they
want to terminate the contract for MOVIE MOGULS. Altho it is
doing well at Brentano's and Altman's in N.Y. it is having no
success in the discount chains. They are also way behind in paying royalties.
Ken was quite upset with R.G.I. I said that things had
gone too far with JET HOLIDAY to turn back now. Also that I
never expect much from a manufacturer, and am pleasantly surprised
if something comes from a deal.
He looked in the stores in Florida and saw very few adult games.
He'll call me at the end of next week about getting together.
Finished up 7 "spy lists" for FOREIGN INTRIGUE and put contact
on all the cards.
Claude called. He picked up a copy of HIGH BID without instructions
for 75 [cents]. Told him I'd get him a repro.
Told him about how FACTS IN FIVE works, in connection with his
work on the "Knowledge" GAME.
Made date for next Thursday, but didn't arrange the details.
Wrote to Bob Eckert, the inventor of SPEED CIRCUIT. Sent him my
BOOK WORLD review. Mentioned NEW TOWN, VECTOR, LENSMAN, and CONFRONTATION (Orbanes).
