Call from Phil Orbanes. He saw Knox today. He is not
doing his pyramid PUZZLE. Knox told him this after Phil had
given him a lot of free advice on packaging the TORUS puzzle.
GROOVE probably will be published.
TORUS, Knox says is an adaptation of an 1900 puzzle. Phil thinks that HOLEY TERROR would be good for Gametime
to do in cardboard. He'd like me to make another model when
I get the chance. Told him that cutting the circular holes
was the hang-up. He told me that cutting edges for compasses
can be got in art supply stores.
Told Phil about Alfons Rubbens and 4000 A.D. Phil will
alert Jim Dunnigan.
Gamut of Games is repackaging BRIDGETTE in a larger
box, with score pad and pencil, for the same price.
I told Phil that I didn't like MY-WORD as much as
JOTTO. Others Phil knows feel the same way.
Rcd. a pleasant letter from Lester Gendron & a check for
$150 for rewriting the LAWSUIT rules.
Rcd. a 1099 form from Infinity-Quest for $262.63 for
NINE OF SWORDS.
Rcd. a letter from an S & T reader (forwarded) asking
about SPACEVENTURE.
[started 2/29]
(cont. from 3/1) [3/1]
a travel game. Bob told him that HOLIDAY was by Sid Sackson and
Sid considers it one of his best. Bob thought it would be a good idea,
if I get a chance, to talk to Henry about it. He started telling me about
some big promotion with Brentano's and his whole line, but we got off
the subject. He wants to get together soon to finalize the slides.
I asked Bob if he thought he could have HOLIDAY ready for the Xerox
exhibit. He'll try. I said I'd like to use MOVIE MOGULS if he has the
dispute with Ken Morgan fixed up. He thinks it will be. Ken is speaking like
he is willing to be reasonable.
To Ray Larsen Associates. Spoke to a gal from Urban Systems. She will
see that I get ECOLOGY, THE GODFATHER GAME, and WOMEN'S LIB
for the Xerox exhibit. There were no new games. However Urban
Systems is handling the puzzles advertised by Lawrence Toys -
EGG TIMER, TRY ANGLES, etc. (see 2/24).
Also at Ray Larsen Assoc's. saw Computer Games. Took booklet with
COMPUTER FOOTBALL, COMPUTER GAMES (a series of games played
against the computer), COMPUTER FOOTBALL SCRIMMAGE,
COMPUTER BASKETBALL, COMPUTER BASEBALL, COMPUTER HOCKEY,
COMPUTER SOCCER. Another with COMPUTAMTIC FOOTBALL,
COMPUTAMATIC HOCKEY, COMPUTAMATIC BASKETBALL, COMPUTAMATIC SOCCER,
COMPUTAMATIC BASEBALL, COMPUTAMATIC GOLF, COMPUTAMATIC SAILING,
(cont. on -3)
