THURSDAY 30 DECEMBER1971 364th day - 1 day to come
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER (Vol. 7, #31 - Dec. '71). Last issue on my subscription. Has a flyer for a PBM NUCLEAR DESTRUCTION.
Rcd. call from Arnold Edson. He did the rules for NIMBI, etc. himself. Gabriel will have one of their men polish them up and then send them to Piet Hein.
Arnold will get in touch with me in a few months, particularly for board games for the European market.
Rcd. a call from Paul Schulman (?) of the HACKENSACK RECORD. He is doing an article on who plays games. He spoke to Mike Alber of Parker publicity and Mike suggested he speak to me. The article should be out in a week or so. I asked him to send me a tear sheet. Also told him about my collection & invited him to come see it sometime.
Arthur called to wish me a Happy New Year. He has a new word GAME with the BYWORD deck. Told him I probably couldn't get there thru January.
I asked if Wald had solved the HIGH DECK PUZZLE he set up on my visit. No.
Made a rough set of equipment for playing FOREIGN INTRIGUE.
To Claude's in evening. Brought him CENTURY OF GREAT GAMES and told him that his friend could probably keep it.
Took home the copy of VINCE LOMBARDI'S GAME Claude got for me. Also a present of some very attractive "Chinese Mask Cards."
Played FOREIGN INTRIGUE, the 4 adults plus, Jackie, Raymond, and Richie. There were a few rough edges concerning challenges and elimination of cards when a player is out. But everyone liked it.
Claude has a few ideas for a "Knowledge Game" for 3M. I told him that he has to get work on it - the time is running out.
